Osaki OS-4000 Review
We’ve had the pleasure of reviewing many massage chairs, and one thing that really stands out about this model is its comfortable design. You don’t even have to sit in it to know that it’s comfortable – although we highly recommend that you do. Made with premium synthetic leather, this chair is incredibly comfortable to sit in even without the massage function on.
This chair has a zero gravity design, which is exactly what it sounds like. When you sit down in the OS-4000, you’ll feel like you’re floating on a cloud.
On the left side of the chair is an LCD monitor that’s conveniently placed within arm’s reach. Here is where you’ll control the chair’s massage functions. It’s incredibly easy to use, and you have numerous options to choose from (more on that shortly).
Massages are performed by a series of S-track movable robots with intelligent designs. These massaging robots move along the natural curve of your body to provide a thorough, effective massage. This particular chair focuses on the back, shoulders and neck, but also offers a lower body massage as well.
There are six automatic programs to choose from, which include: Relax, Healthcare, Circulation, Smart and Demo. The Smart program can be a bit rough on the calves, as many other reviewers have pointed out. But with five speed and intensity levels, you can make adjustments accordingly for a more comfortable calf massage.
Osaki also built in six massage styles: rolling, shiatsu, combo, clapping and Swedish. You can also choose a manual massage for the upper body, and that offers three options: partial, full body or fixed. Width adjustments are available as well, including: narrow, medium and wide.
Air pressure massage can be performed on the upper and lower body. The upper body has two airbags, while the lower body has 26 airbags. Both settings offer five intensity levels. There’s also a vibration massage for the buttocks.
With so many options and adjustments available, this chair was a dream to use. It’s comfortable, and its massaging programs feel surprisingly (and somewhat strangely) human-like.

- Numerous massage options
- Customizable programs
- Multiple massage types
- Upper and lower body massages
- LCD display is easy to use
The OS-4000 is a mid-range massage chair with a higher price tag, but in our opinion, it’s well worth the cost.
The Osaki OS-4000 offers maximum comfort, customizable massage options and a zero gravity design. If you’re searching for a mid-level massage chair, it doesn’t get any better than this model.
